Santa Barbara, Riviera of the Pacific

I recently had the good fortune to attend a work training held in beautiful Santa Barbara. We stayed at the Pepper Tree Inn where the management and all the staff went out of their way to be helpful and efficient. The hotel is conveniently located on State Street and is adjacent to La Cumbre Shopping Plaza. The hotel features two tiled pools, whirlpools, sauna, exercise room, gift shop, restaurant, three meeting rooms and high speed wireless internet.
Ceci and I enjoyed strolling out to the Stearn’s Warf at the end of State Street at West Beach. We felt right at home with the many school age kids walking in pairs, wearing matching lime – colored tee shirts, on their way to visit the Ty Warner Sea Center. Ceci and I couldn’t resist joining an adventure and also went in to the Sea Center and got to “pet” a shark!
My Santa Barbara work days were a delightful mix of new acquaintances, useful training, visions of red tile roofs, colorful flowers , lush vegetation and sandy beaches. I can’t wait for my return visit to Santa Barbara with its relaxed Mediterranean-style, sunny climate and rich cultural heritage.
